Callender Lake – The Best Kept Secret in East Texas!
Callender Lake is one of the best kept secrets of East Texas. It is approximately 20 minutes from Athens on the southwest, 45 minutes from Tyler on the East and it is almost centrally located between Shreveport, Louisiana on the East and the DFW Metroplex on the West.
The lake is about one and one-half hours from the DFW Metroplex and approximately two hours from Shreveport. Other nearby towns are Murchison on the south, Edom on the east and Ben Wheeler on the north.
Two gated communities, Callender Lake and Hickory Hills, surround this private 365 acre lake. This website is maintained by the Callender Lake Property Owners Improvement Association, and provides information about our community on the East side of the lake.
